§ 6-18. Definitions.

(a)

Whenever the word "municipality" is used in the building code adopted by this article, it shall be held to mean the City of Mount Carmel, Illinois.

(b)

Whenever the term "corporation counsel" is used in said building code, it shall be held to mean the city attorney.

(c)

Whenever the term "building official" is used in said building code, it shall be held to mean the city inspector or any other officer of the city designated by the city council having the duty to enforce regulations relative to zoning, building, housing and fire prevention.

(d)

Whenever the term "building" is used herein, it shall mean any structure used or intended for supporting or sheltering any use or occupancy.

(e)

Whenever the term "swimming pool" is used herein, it shall mean any structure intended for swimming or recreational bathing that contains water over 24 inches (610 mm) deep. This includes in-ground, above-ground and on-ground swimming pools, hot tubs and spas.
