§ 2-197. Commission created; composition; terms; appointments.

(a)

There is hereby created in and for the city a municipal civil service commission, which commission may also be known as and referred to as the civil service commission.

(b)

The civil service commission shall consist of three members who shall be residents of the city.

(c)

The term of office for each member of the commission shall be for a three-year period, except that upon creation of the commission original appointments shall be made of one member for one year, one member for two years and one member for three years.

(d)

All appointments to the civil service commission shall be made by the mayor with the approval of the city council.
